Stewartia study morning

Learn all about Stewartia from the National Collection Holder, including propagation and a tour of the collection.

A rare opportunity for you to go behind the scenes at the famous High Beeches Gardens which holds a National Collection of Stewartia: a beautiful tree related to Camellias with flaking bark, lovely flowers and good autumn colour. Sarah Bray, the owner, is inviting members to enjoy a fascinating morning with these intriguing trees.

She will give a tour of the collection, telling of the origin of these trees, their history within the garden and elevation to National Collection status.

There is a practical element too – propagation, cultivation, pests and diseases will be covered and you will find that these techniques will be relevant to many plants in your own garden.

Booking for Plant Heritage Members and their guests now open.

Coffee and cake on arrival.
