Iris ‘Ochraurea’ (Spuria)


Synonyms: Iris ochraurea, Iris ‘Ochroaurea’

Description:

Sir Michael Foster (1836-1907) introduction of 1890, recorded as a hybrid of ‘Spuria Aurea’ × I. ochroleuca. Won an RHS Award of Merit in 1938. Iris ‘Ochroaurea’ is cited in The Gardener’s Chronicle of 1900 where it is suggested to be a hybrid of I. ochroleuca × I. aurea derived from seed of plants at Kew Gardens.
