Description:
Hybridised prior to 1921 by Mrs R.O. Backhouse (Sarah Elizabeth Backhouse 1857-1921) and named by her husband Robert Backhouse in her memory in 1923. The Daffodil Register records that the parentage is thought to involve 'Lord Kitchener' and 'Will Scarlett'. Renowned as one of the standout bulbs of the 20th century and for decades was known as the most prominent pink daffodil cultivar. Mr & Mrs Backhouse bred more than 470 cultivars.
