Warwickshire
Our friendly group has been in existence since 1985. We meet during seven months of the year for a get-together and lecture, and arrange garden visits during the summer. Please get in contact if you would like to know more about us.
Meetings are held in the Great Hall, at Lord Leycester Hospital, 60 High Street, Warwick, CV34 4BH (near the West gate), and start at 7.45pm on the second Thursday in March, April, May, September, October, November and December.
Entry is free to members and visitors are welcome at £5 per person per meeting. Tea/coffee and biscuits are available at the end of the evening and members are welcome to bring plants for the plant sale to sell, with 75% of the sale price to the seller and 25% to group funds.
There is a monthly raffle at our lecture meetings and a newsletter is issued periodically to advise of our annual programme and othe approprite information.
Seven National Collections are held in Warwickshire.
The group takes part in the annual Plant Heritage Plant Exchange scheme aimed at conserving rare and unusual garden plants.
Volunteers from the group also help with restoring a group of historic Victorian Pleasure Gardens in Warwick.
Plant sale: In the past we have organised a plant fair, held in Leamington Spa on the first Saturday in June, but this has been suspended for 2020 due to the lack of a volunteer organiser.

Three National Plant Collections are held by Avondale Nurseries, near Coventry: Sanguisorba 'Pink Brushes'

Pelargonium 'Arnside Fringed Aztec' from the National Plant Collection held by Fibres Nurseries
