Summer Evening Social

Members and guests are cordially invited to an evening social event.  There will be no charge, but donations towards drinks will be welcome and everyone is asked to bring one plate of food.

Many thanks to David and Cathy Simpson for hosting this event in their lovely garden.

Covering almost a fifth of an acre and triangular in shape, the garden is divided into three very distinct areas. The front garden is long and narrow with a sculptured lawn, shrubs, trees, and David's recently relocated National Collection of hardy Tradescantias. The middle garden is now predominantly roses, clematis and nepeta, accessed via shallow steps up from the large entertaining terrace, while the former fruit and vegetable garden at the rear has recently been turned back to lawn bounded by hedges and trees.

Well known to many of us, and always willing to 'roll up his sleeves' David is an active member of Plant Heritage, and Chairman of the Cotswold Cottage Gardening Group. David and Cathy have been married for 52 years and have 3 grown up children and 3 beautiful granddaughters. David's time is spent with his family, playing golf, cruise holidays and of course...gardening!
