Group Visit to Asthall Manor, Nr. Burford
Includes Guided Tour by the Gardeners
A rare opportunity to tour the beautiful gardens at Asthall Manor. Designed by I & J Bannerman in 1998, the gardens, which flow into the landscape of the Windrush Valley, include a hidden lake, orchards and a box-bordered parterre, with notable sculptures by Anthony Turner at the gateposts. The garden has featured in many articles and books, including The Secret Gardens of the Cotswolds.
The garden is accessible but a little steep in places: sturdy shoes are recommended.
The garden is in a tiny village called Asthall near Burford on the banks of the Windrush River. It is very easy to find just off the A40 between the Burford and the roundabout at the start of the Witney bypass. See the following LINK for directions. Parking will be in the field opposite the Manor.
Entry price will be £10 to include refreshments - this will be donated to a new project to create a kitchen garden which will be run by the community for the community.
Please RSVP to Stevie (details below) so that we can give the owners an idea of how many people to expect.
