Plant Heritage's royal patron is His Majesty The King, Charles III
His Majesty is well known for his love of plants and gardens and his commitment to environmental sustainability. He became the royal patron for Plant Heritage in 1992. The King's Foundation maintains 2 National Plant Collections at Highgrove gardens: Fagus (Beech trees) mature, semi-mature and recently planted specimens in parkland and garden setting; and Hosta (large and giant leaved), mostly displayed in a naturalistic way in the extended stumpery garden. The Royal Household also has a National Collection of Morus (Mulberry) held within the gardens of Buckingham & Kensington Palaces.
Our president is Alan Titchmarsh CBE, VMH
Alan Titchmarsh has been Plant Heritage president since 2010. With his passion for plants and gardens, Alan is the perfect president for Plant Heritage. He hosted a fantastic celebration for our 25th anniversary in 2023 at RHS Wisley garden near Woking.
