Plant Heritage is the UK's leading charity for the conservation of cultivated plants
As a charity, we are governed by a board of trustees led by our chairman, which oversees the work of the small staff team. We also have a royal patron, president and vice presidents.
The board is supported by committees and working groups, including the Plant Collections Committee which is responsible for accrediting and overseeing the National Plant Collections. Our board and committee members are volunteers, and we have hundreds of other volunteers who generously donate their time and skills to help our work.
We are a membership organisation, with local groups across the UK. We hold a national annual general meeting (AGM) every year, where the trustees report back on progress and outline plans for the year ahead. Each member of Plant Heritage has a vote in appointing new trustees and approving the accounts. We publish our latest annual report and accounts on our website.
Plant Heritage was previously known as the National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens (NCCPG). You can read more about our history and our aims and objectives here.
