Their exhibit will feature plants from the Pelargonium Plant Heritage National Collection held at Wisley and plants grown by group members which are 'rare' and eligible for Plant Guardian status.

Featured will be Pelargonium 'Royal Surprise' which until last year held the converted RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit) until it's lack of availability forced its removal.

Also featured will be Pelargonium 'Hollywood Star'.  This pelargonium was American bred in the 30's and had a brief revival in the UK in the 1990's.  It is unusual by modern standards because it is a seed raised plant.  It was reintroduced by Thompson & Morgan after problems arose with many stock held pelargonium plants held in the UK last century.  Years of taking cuttings of cuttings had caused plants to suffer genetic drift and become weaker.  It's advantage of being raised from seed was short lived as modern micro propagation techniques overcame such problems and  this beautiful plant is now no longer available in the UK.
