The Plant Heritage Missing Collector Garden painting
Benjamin MacGregor
If you visited the Plant Heritage Missing Collector Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year, you may have noticed an artist painting our beautiful woodland edge garden. The artist in question is Benjamin MacGregor, who won Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year in 2025. He has now developed these studies into a stunning oil painting which is up for auction via the charity platform A Noble Gift, with all the proceeds benefiting Plant Heritage's important conservation work.

The substantial painting (110cm x 110cm framed) captures the incredible borders created by the Planting Design Collective, with many plants from National Plant Collections featured. It also includes the remarkable Full Grown chair sculpture by Alice and Gavin Munro, much admired by Dame Judi Dench and many other visitors during the show.
The auction will help raise valuable funds to support the work of Plant Heritage, and is a unique opportunity to own one of Benjamin’s works of art. His paintings are in high demand, with his exhibition at Glasshouse Contemporary being a sell-out, and we’re hugely grateful to him for donating this work to support us.
Even better, funds raised via the auction will be doubled through the Big Give's Christmas fundraising campaign (up to £5,000), so whoever makes the winning bid on this stunning painting can be happy that their generosity will have twice the impact.
This is a unique chance to own a piece of Chelsea history, and to help protect the plants that make gardens like the Plant Heritage Missing Collector Garden possible.
