Welcome to the Plant Heritage Gloucestershire group
We are a friendly group in a county rich in National Plant Collections. We meet from October to March for a range of talks aimed at plant enthusiasts, with garden visits throughout the year. Recent events have included National Collection holders' day (all members welcome), a Christmas plant quiz and a summer evening party in a member's garden.
Our talks often start with a chat about seasonal plants of interest and you're welcome to bring a cutting or a potted plant to show to the group. Meetings are rounded off with tea, coffee and scrumptious cake and a chance to chat with other members. We also hold a raffle after the talks (donations much appreciated). Where possible, we make our talks available to those unable to attend in person, via zoom.
Non members are very welcome to join us for a small contribution (£3). This is a great way to find out more about Plant Heritage and to see if you might like to join us.
For details of our Summer Events and Garden Visits, please check these pages for the most up to date information.
Members who are not able to regularly attend events can benefit from our Annual Plant Exchange. Members around the country can offer or bid for interesting and rare plants. All the plants are exchanged at our national AGM and are then distributed back to our members. No money exchanges place!
Members can also contribute directly to Plant Conservation by registering as a Plant Guardian. This scheme ensures that plants that are becoming rare in cultivation are safe in one or more known locations.
