Seed Donations

Plant Heritage Seed Shop

At Plant Heritage we are passionate about preserving and sharing our rich garden heritage. So often we find plants that our grandparents grew are no longer commonly available.

Our Seed Shop is a wonderful way for us to encourage more people to grow plants and to collect and share seed.

We are very happy to receive donations from rare and unusual varieties but also those favourite plants that we all love so much.

You will find us at major events such as the RHS shows and local plant fairs.

Our support network has grown over the years with seed coming from members' gardens, botanical gardens and Plant Heritage National Collection Holders. We very much welcome donations.

The seeds are sorted, packed and labelled by our volunteers, who also then run the shop.

Visitors to the shop can then buy seed, for a donation to Plant Heritage.

If you would like to donate seed, please send in paper bags, clearly marked with as much information as possible. For example the name of the plant (and botanical name if known), the year of collection, the colour or any other relevant description and where it was collected (e.g. back garden). Please let us know your name and address as well.  Please post your seed to: Plant Heritage, First Floor Offices, Stone Pine, Wisley Lane, Wisley, Woking GU23 6QD, Surrey.

Please only send seed from the UK. We cannot accept seed collected from the wild. We state the seed may have been open pollinated and so it may not be true to type. For more information on legislation around wild collected seed and the Nagoya Protocol see the legislation page.

Many thanks for your contributions.
