Rosa ‘Sterling Silver’ (HT)
Synonym: Rosa ‘First Lady’
Description:
Bred by Esther Gladys Fisher (US) before 1955, considered a Florists Rose with blooms of lilac petals that age to a lighter shade. Strong, fruity, citrus, sweet fragrance. Dark glossy green leathery foliage. Mrs Fisher of Arnold-Fisher Company a rose and clematis nursery, Woburn, Massachusetts was one of few women hybridising roses at that time and specialised in roses with unusual colors. 'Sterling Silver' was named so due to it being adopted by the Sterling Silversmiths Guild of America.
