Introduction to the local representative for Mid Wales & S Shropshire

Hello, my name is James Morris and I am the Mid Wales & South Shropshire representative. I fell in love with plants back in 2020 during the Covid pandemic. My first plant was an Echinacea purpurea. I love its unique upright flowers in a myriad of colours, to the drooping petals and then watching the flowers die and look amazing in the winter frost.

I joined Plant Heritage on a trip to the RHS Malvern Spring Festival in 2022. I moved from my two-bed flat and shared garden space to a garden with three quarters of an acre of land, which I hope to turn into a space full of wildlife and different garden borders. I would love to hold a National Plant Collection of Echinacea one day and have started planning this, which I will be sharing. I now have over 200 plants in my garden and a very large collection of house plants (and I’m realising I have little self-restraint when it comes to increasing either collection!)
