We are a small friendly group who enjoy talks, visits and growing and selling plants
There are more than 20 National Plant Collections in Cheshire, from back gardens and plant nurseries to botanic gardens and Chester Zoo. Our local group gets together every month for talks from September to April. You will also find us selling plants we have grown at the Arley Plants Fair and the Arley Garden Festival.
We have a variety of visiting speakers for our monthly events (National Collection holders and other nurseries and growers) and many people bring plants for sale. Following the speaker there is a raffle and we have tea, coffee and biscuits. Non members are very welcome to join our events (£4). It is a great way to see if you would like to join our friendly group, and support Plant Heritage's conservation work by becoming a member. The talks are normally held at Toft Cricket Club in Knutsford. From Sept 2026, the club is closed for refurbishment so we will be meeting at Mere and Tabley Community Club, Warrington. See the events page for details.
In the summer, we sometimes organise visits to gardens. We take part in two plant fairs at Arley Hall (the Arley Spring Plant Fair in March and Arley Garden Festival in June), where we sell plants grown by members.
