Visit to Thorp Perrow Arboretum to enjoy the autumn colours of the 5 National Plant Collections of rare trees and shrubs.
The Arboretum has 51 Champion Trees, 12 of which are included in the National Collections. The 100 acre Arboretum was first established by Sir Leonard Ropner in the 1930s, with Springs Wood at its heart, dating back to medieval times. Today, Sir Henry Ropner, Natasha and family are the custodians, continuing to balance their work of planting, conservation and the visitor experience.

11:00 Introduction to Thorp Perrow and the 5 national collections by Tom Coxhead, Curator
11:15 – 13:00 Tour of national collections

Car parking is adjacent to the entrance. There are designated blue-badge spaces in the car park. Visitors with restricted mobility may be dropped off at the entrance before parking.
Accessible toilets can be found at the Tearoom and the Bird of Prey Centre.
Some areas of the Arboretum are not accessible for wheelchairs or those with restricted mobility. A mobility scooter is available to hire from the Tearoom 01677 427203, priced at £5.00 for 3 hours.
Dogs on leads are welcome although not permitted in the following areas:
- inside the Tearoom but can join in the outside seating area
- the children’s play area
- Bird of Prey and Mammal Centres.
