Calanthe rosea
Description:
Native to tropical regions of Myanmar, Philippines & Thailand at elevations of 300-900m. A hot climate orchid of deciduous growth from a habitat of plentiful spring-summer rains & dry autumn-winter periods. In cultivation water frequently during growth, ceasing once leaves die back. Performs best at consistent humidity of 50%, & temp 12-30°C. Inflorescence approx. 40-70cm after leaf fall, with 10-30 intense pink flowers around 6cm diameter.
