Description:
Dianthus register records as raised by T Bat and notes that it is said to be of 18th century origin. Cited in Dianthus: Old fashioned pinks by Mark Trenear (a previous National Collection holder) he records that Enfield nurseryman, Thomas Bat, raised a number of pinks in the early 18th century.
