Syringa pubescens subsp. julianae ‘George Eastman’
Description:
Said to be discovered in 1971 by Richard A. Fenicchia at Durand-Eastman Park, Rochester, New York, as a chance seedling in a naturalised planting. Named for George Eastman, it was registered in 1978. Robert B. Clark of Birchwood Gardens subsequently helped propagate and distribute the cultivar, contributing to its wider introduction.
