Chaenomeles × clarkiana
Description:
A relatively rare and uncommon flowering-quince hybrid, produced from C. cathayensis × C. japonica. First described in 1963, it is mainly found in cultivation and specialist plant collections. Unlike the more widespread C. × superba, C. × clarkiana is seldom encountered in gardens and nurseries. Several cultivars have been selected and specifically named, including ‘Minerva’ and ‘Cynthia’.
