Lophomyrtus obcordata (Raoul) Burret
Description:
New Zealand native evergreen shrub or small tree, found mainly in lowland forests, scrub and coastal habitats. It has small, rounded to heart-shaped leaves, often with a reddish or bronze tint when young. In summer, it produces small white flowers with prominent stamens, followed by dark berries. It is valued for its attractive foliage and ecological importance, and is of interest to botanical collections as part of New Zealand’s distinctive native flora.
