Astilbe ‘Bronzelaub’ (× arendsii)

Synonym: Astilbe ‘Bronzelaub’ x arendsii

Description:

This is an Arendsii group astilbe, part of hybrids developed in the early 20th century by German breeder Georg Arends. He crossed East Asian woodland species to create stronger, more ornamental garden plants with improved flower colour and vigour. This selection was chosen for its dark, bronze-tinted foliage with reddish stems and upright pinkish-white flower plumes in summer. It thrives in moist, humus-rich soil in partial shade, reflecting its shaded woodland origins.
