Historic daffodil is classified as a W-W (Trumpet Long-Cupped) variety that flowers very early and grows to a standard height of 32.5–67.5 cm. Hybridised by Barr and Sons in England and registered before 1905, it later received the AM awards in 1905 and 1915. The flower has narrow white perianth segments with slight ribbing and gentle overlap, surrounding a creamy-white trumpet with a recurved, crenate rim. Its smaller bloom is admired for its graceful, delicate appearance.
