Aspidistra daibuensis ‘Taiwan Stars’
Synonym: Aspidistra daibuensis ‘Taiwan Stars’ BSWJ312b
Description:
Originates from Taiwan, where it was collected by Crûg Farm on expeditions in 1992 from deep, well-drained shaded forests. In the wild it grows from creeping rhizomes in dense woodland, forming slow colonies of evergreen plants with glossy leaves. It was introduced into cultivation from these Taiwanese collections and selected for its spotted foliage and unusual ground-level winter flowers, which appear in forest leaf litter under low light conditions.
