Iris ‘Benton Ankaret’ (TB)

Description:
Raised in 1945 by noted artist and plantsman Cedric Morris (1889–1982, 1945). Tall, bearded iris with deep red-bronze reticulated standards and white falls marked violet, with a yellow centre, giving a bicolour effect. Introduced by Wallace & Co., it was rediscovered at Cambridge Botanic Garden. Morris received the Foster Memorial Plaque, a British Iris Society award (est. 1926) honouring exceptional contributions to iris hybridising and the advancement of the genus.
