Salvia rosmarinus ‘Vicomte de Noailles’ (Ro)
Description:
Commemorating Charles de Noailles (1891–1981), the French Viscount and patron of modern garden design, this rosemary honours a horticulturist who developed gardens in Paris and Hyères, including the garden at Villa Noailles. After 1945, he established a terraced garden at Grasse and, in 1977, co-authored Plantes de jardins méditerranéens with Roy Lancaster. Listed by CREA, Sanremo, Italy, its essential oil is characterised by high levels of camphor and 14-hydroxy-9-epi-(E)-caryophyllene.
