Description:
Known as the East African tree houseleek, this branching succulent is native to Yemen and northeastern Africa, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, and Uganda. It forms upright or sprawling stems topped with rosettes of fleshy, spoon-shaped bluish- to yellowish-green leaves marked by a dark pink to brown central stripe, intensifying in strong sun. Yellow star-shaped flowers appear in spring. It thrives in sunny, well-drained conditions.
