Astilbe ‘Opal’

Synonym: Astilbe ‘Opal’ (× arendsii)

Description:

Raised in 1913 by renowned German breeder Georg Arends, this historic Arendsii hybrid is considered one of the finest astilbes of its era. Although once lost from cultivation across much of Europe, it survives as a rare garden plant valued for its vigour and elegance. Strong stems carry magnificent panicles of silvery lilac-pink flowers above neat, glossy green foliage in midsummer. Thriving in moist soils, it remains a highly regarded and distinctive cultivar
