Teucrium lucidum L.
Description:
Native to the southwestern Alps of France and Italy, this temperate perennial subshrub is a scapose hemicryptophyte with buds at or just below the soil surface. It may be leafless or bear opposite lanceolate to ovate leaves, and produces elongated flowering stems with pink, red or purple flowers from spring to late summer. Although it has no known uses, it also occurs outside its native range in Spain, Ethiopia, Canada, the USA, Switzerland, Belgium and Algeria.
