Description:
Commonly known as bulbous comfrey, this temperate perennial is native to southern and central Europe and northwestern Türkiye, where it grows in forests, woodland clearings, scrub and rocky slopes. Typically reaching 15–50cm tall, it bears oblong leaves and short yellow to orange flowers with exserted corolla scales from spring to early summer. Occasionally cultivated in gardens, it has also been introduced to parts of central Europe, North Africa and Great Britain.
