Paeonia ‘Orion’ Cranfield


Description:
Bred by William Bathgate Cranfield VMH 1935 FLS 1927 (1859-1948) of Enfield Chase, who was a renowned fern, iris and paeony enthusiast and breeder of daffodils. Recipient of the Victorian Medal of Honour in 1935 and a Fellow of the Linnaean Society, Cranfield was awarded the prestigious Cory Cup for Paeonia ‘Orion’ which was recognised as the best new hybrid of garden origin shown during 1927.
