Impatiens macrophylla
Description:
Subshrub or shrub native to Sri Lanka, occurring mainly in wet tropical habitats. It can form substantial clumps in damp locations, with woody lower stems and upright, vivid red stems carrying large, fleshy, elliptic leaves. The leaves have gently toothed edges and prominent red petioles. Orange, helmet-shaped flowers appear individually on slender stems among the foliage. It grows best in fertile, reliably moist soil in sun or partial shade.
