Narcissus ‘Strongbow’
Description:
Raised by Rev. G. H. Engleheart before 1898, this historic daffodil combines a straight corona and long stigma, features suggesting links to the Nelsonii Group. While Barr & Sons listed it as Nelsonii in 1903, its horizontal flower position and perianth segments held at right angles to the corona are atypical of that group. Formerly sold as 'Howick’s Half Nelson', further research by Croft 16 Daffodils in 2023 confirmed its true identity as Engleheart’s 'Strongbow'.
