Rosa ‘Peace’ (Tea)


Description:

Introduced by George Wren Piper (1837-1912), renowned rosarian and nurseryman of Uckfield Nursery, Ridgewood, Sussex, 1902.  Discovered as a sport of ‘G. Nabonnand’ and named to mark the end of the Boer War. Piper also introduced ‘Sunrise’, a sport of ‘Sunset’ in 1899.  Not to be confused with Frances Meilland's 'Madame A. Meilland' of 1935, which was introduced into United States & Australia as 'Peace' post-1945.
