Actaea asiatica H.Hara

Description:

This species from Emei Shan is a compact, clump-forming perennial collected by plant hunter Dan Hinkley from the moist forests of Emei Shan in Sichuan, China. Growing 40–80cm tall, it has finely divided foliage, fluffy white summer flowers and striking glossy black berries held on vivid pink fleshy stalks into autumn. Shade tolerant and rhizomatous, it thrives in fertile, moisture-retentive woodland soils.
