Polystichum setiferum ‘Othello’


Description:

A selected cultivar originating from an historic collection created by Tom Bolton of Yorks., over a century ago.  Known as a fern enthusiast and sweet pea grower, his collection passed down through his family and via the Lord family of Austwick, Yorks, to Fibrex Nurseries, Worcs.  Although likely to have had a previous name, it is one of four renamed and reintroduced by Fibrex circa 2009. A low growing fern to 30cm with long prostrate fronds up to 100cm.
