Arisaema formosanum
Description:
First published in 1915 by the Japanese botanist Bunzō Hayata, this species is endemic to Taiwan, where it grows in cool, moist mountain forests. Hayata was one of the pioneering botanists to document Taiwan’s flora during the early twentieth century, and the species name reflects its Taiwanese origins. It produces elegant radial leaves composed of numerous narrow leaflets and distinctive striped, hooded flowers, making it one of the most striking members of the genus.
