Arisaema propinquum Schott
Description:
First published in 1857 by the Austrian botanist Heinrich Wilhelm Schott, this species is native to the Himalayas, ranging from Pakistan through northern India and Nepal to Tibet. It grows in cool, moist mountain forests and streamside habitats at elevations of 2,400–3,000 metres. Producing striking purple- or green-striped hooded flowers above divided foliage, it is one of the most distinctive cobra lilies of the Himalayan region and has long been valued as an ornamental plant
