Iris ‘Ambassadeur’ (TB)


Description:

A tall bearded iris, rich in color with smoky lavender standards and velvety purple-maroon falls, midseason to late blooming. Introduced in 1920 by Vilmorin, Vilmorin-Andrieux et Cie, based in Paris and founded in 1774, became one of the world’s leading seedhouses. The Vilmorin family, renowned horticulturists and hybridisers, developed many important irises.  Jacques Lévêque de Vilmorin led the firm in the early 20th century, advancing plant breeding and international floral exhibitions.
