Asplenium trichomanes ‘Cristata’
Synonym: Asplenium trichomanes Cristatum Group
Description:
This crested fern form comes from a widespread European and temperate Asian species found in rocky habitats, walls, and shaded cliffs. Natural mutations occasionally produce fronds with divided or fan-like crested tips instead of smooth ends, which were selected for cultivation. It forms a compact evergreen clump with arching fronds made of small rounded to oblong leaflets. The key feature is the frilly, scalloped frond tips that create a textured, lacy appearance.
