Galanthus ‘Faringdon Double’ (d)
Description:
An early-flowering double snowdrop, notable for its well-formed white flowers, green-marked inner segments and glaucous foliage. It was found in Faringdon churchyard, Oxfordshire, in 1988 by snowdrop collectors David and Ruby Baker. The cultivar was subsequently introduced commercially in Ronald Mackenzie’s snowdrop catalogue in 1997 and is particularly valued for its very early flowering, often around Christmas.
