Description:
A perennial native to Alaska and western North America, thriving in temperate regions. In its natural habitat, it grows 3–38cm tall with kidney-shaped or oval basal leaves (up to 7) and smaller cauline leaves. It produces deep lemon-yellow flowers with brownish-purple veins and a yellow-green spur, blooming from early spring to mid-summer. Prefers part shade and humus-rich, moist to wet, well-drained soils (clay, loam, or sand). Known as stream violet.
