Description:
Restricted to the Kermadec Islands of New Zealand, this threatened subtropical shrub grows in open forest habitats, particularly on cliffs, at elevations of 30–300m. Commonly known as Kermadec koromiko, it forms an openly branched shrub up to 2m tall with glossy green, narrowly elliptic leaves arranged in opposite pairs. Its distinctive, short, hairy flower clusters are typically shorter than the leaves and bear numerous small white to pale purplish flowers.
