Iris ‘Mrs Alan Gray’ (TB)
Description:
Bred by Michael Foster (1836–1907) and introduced in 1909, a cross between ‘Cengialti’ and ‘Queen of May’. Described in the 1922 R. Wallace & Co. catalogue as “one of the most beautiful”, it has neat, self-coloured flowers in a distinctive delicate lilac shade with a pinkish impression. Notably, it often produces a second flush of flowers in August and is particularly effective when planted in quantity.
