Begonia ‘Cracklin' Rosie’ (C)
Synonym: Begonia Rosie' (‘Cracklin’)
Description:
Developed in 1990 by American hybridizer Walter Dworkin, this striking cane begonia is the result of a cross between ‘Silvermist’ and ‘Salmon Rubra’. It quickly gained popularity for its dramatic foliage rather than its flowers. The deeply fluted, wavy leaves are rich bronze to dark red, heavily spotted with tiny pink markings and backed by a dark crimson underside. Growing to around 1m tall, it is valued for its bold colour, texture, and strong presence in shade collections.
