Penstemon ‘Myddelton Gem’


Synonym: Penstemon ‘Myddelton Red’

Description:

Raised by Wallace & Co, Colchester, Essex before 1905 and said to be a favourite of E.A Bowles after whose house it was named.  It has been described as a bedding type with small carmine-rose flowers. Listed by John Forbes of Hawick in 1911. Forbes was once the largest breeder of Penstemon in Europe, if not the world at that time.
