Hemerocallis ‘Miracle Maid’
Description:
Introduced by Steve Varner of Monticello, Illinois, in 1981, this 28" tetraploid has 6" bright red blooms with a green throat and won an HM in 1988. Varner registered 44 tetraploids, many with the “Illini” prefix, including award-winners like ‘Illini Jackpot,’ ‘Illini Maiden,’ ‘Illini Ruffles,’ and ‘Illini Show Girl,’ establishing him as a notable breeder of striking red and blended daylilies.
