Description:
First published in Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 25: 395 (1898). It is an accepted plant species. It is native to western Ecuador. This plant is an epiphyte, meaning it grows on trees instead of in soil. It lives mainly in wet tropical forests with warm, humid conditions. It absorbs water and nutrients from rain and air around it. It is known for its long, hanging leaves, which make it popular as an ornamental plant.
