Tritonia securigera
Description:
Cormous perennial endemic to the southern Cape Provinces of South Africa, where it occurs in karroid shrubland, renosterveld, grassland and thicket on clay, sandy and stony slopes. Growing 15–30cm tall, it forms fans of linear to lanceolate leaves and produces 2–15 reddish-orange, occasionally yellow, funnel-shaped flowers in late winter to early spring. Each flower has a distinctive yellow throat and prominent tooth-like yellow callus on the lower tepals.
