Adenophora polyantha Nakai
Synonyms: Adenophora polyantha ‘Nakai’, Adenophora scabridula
Description:
A temperate perennial native to northern and eastern China, Inner Mongolia, Manchuria, and Korea, growing in sunny grassy habitats below 2000m. It forms single or clustered stems 20–100cm tall with heart-shaped basal leaves and serrated lance-shaped stem leaves. Purple to dark blue bell-shaped flowers appear Aug–Oct in narrow racemes or panicles, followed by ovoid seed capsules. First described in 1909.
